After a chilly week on Merseyside, temperatures are set to warm up over bank holiday weekend.
The warmer weather is thanks to the Arctic air giving way to warmer winds from the south.

Saturday will continue to be quite a chilly cloudy day, but by Sunday there could be highs of 16C on Merseyside.
Although the warmer temperatures, it will be a muggy day as cloud will continue to cover the region with the risk of rain into Sunday evening.
Winds will also be strong too with gusts of 40mph possible in some areas.

The warmer weather is expected to continue into the start of May when there will be more in the way of sunshine.
The Met Office say: “The bank holiday will probably start very wet, though showers will become fewer and lighter during the day, allowing some late sunshine.
“Tuesday and Wednesday will be drier and warmer”.
