Remnants of Storm Stella thats brought violent snow storms to the U.S will head towards the U.K.


Storm Stella is currently binging 60mph winds and huge amounts of snowfall to eastern parts of the U.S.

Schools have been closed and thousands of flights of been cancelled as the icy storm grips the country.

Parts of New York have been covered in a few feet of snow turning parts of the city into a winter wonderland.

However, as it heads towards the UK at the end of the week, the storm will have lost intensity.

The weather front will have also picked up warmth an moisture as it crosses the Atlantic.

The storm will end up moving well away from the UK, although there will be some knock on impacts that will affect our weather.

Wind and rain will increase towards the weekend, with Merseyside expected to see gusts of 40mph.

The Met Office say: “Wet, windy and colder conditions will arrive on Friday with persistent and heavy rain at times.

“Saturday will become drier with some brighter spells, but turning unsettled again on Sunday”.
