Merseyside enjoyed plenty of warm sunshine today with many people heading to parks to enjoy a lunch break during the warm weather.
As the region enjoyed the sun, temperatures peaked up to 15C across the area, making it the hottest day of the year.

It was also the hottest day of the year for the country as a whole, temperatures reached 18.8C in Kew Gardens.
However, the warmer weather will be short lasting as more cloudy and unsettled weather is on the way.
Over the next week temperatures will average around 10C with winds picking up by the weekend.

The Met Office say: “More unsettled conditions are expected with periods of wet and windy weather.
“Brighter, more showery conditions will develop later on Sunday”.
