Wirral rescue teams launch to hunt for a high risk missing woman in freezing conditions

Hoylake RNLI’s hovercraft Wirral Coastguard teams were called out to conduct a search for a “high risk missing woman” in Leasowe Bay on Saturday night.

The RNLI hovercraft was launched at around 10.00pm and in coordination with Wirral Coastguard Rescue Team.

Teams searched the shoreline and groynes from Dovepoint in Meols towards New Brighton in freezing conditions.

The casualty was soon located safely inshore by Merseyside Police and the hovercraft returned to station at 11.00pm.
