The Met Office warned of 80mph winds for parts of the UK, but what we can we expect on Merseyside.
Most of the strong winds were recorded overnight but it’s still expected to be gusty at some Merseyside costal areas.
Winds aren’t expected to reach faster than 40mph, but this can still cause large costal waves.

Winds are expected to die down completely by the weekend, when colder temperatures are expected with highs of 7C .
The Met Office say: “Saturday is looking very unsettled with strong winds and rain at times.
“Sunday should be a little calmer with sunshine and showers before rain arrives from the west later Monday”.
