It wasn’t a bad start to the week as temperatures remained above average for the time of year.
But as we get further into the week temperatures will drop and it will feel very cold.

The change in the position of the jet stream is to blame as arctic air will be able to filter down over to the UK.
Towards the end of the week arctic weather will have the UK in its grasp, which will bring colder weather and a risk of sleet or snow to some areas of Mersyside.

How cold will it get ?
Thursday, Friday and Saturday are looking very cold as daytime temperatures wont climb above 4C, with nighttime temperatures dipping below freezing.
It will be windy too with potential gusts of up to 50mph, so the wind chill will make the weather feel closer to -2C, especially at coastal locations.
