Merseyside has it’s coldest night of winter so far, but the weather will warm up

Merseyside had it’s coldest night of winter so far last night with temperatures dropping to a chilly -4.7C.

It was so cold that Wirral lakes froze over and the Met Office issued severe cold weather alerts to warn the public of 90% chance of cold weather, which can harm the vunerable.

Although the extremely cold weather temperatures are expected to recover.

As we head into next week it feel feel milder with temperatures back around into the low double figures.

The Met Office say: “Mostly dry but often cloudy over the weekend, although less cold, turning milder.

“Becoming wet and windy on Monday with a spell of heavy rain, clearing to sunshine and scattered blustery showers”.
