Arctic winds set to return and will bring a cold start to 2017 on Merseyside

The New Year is nearly upon us and it’s looking like 2017 will get off to a cold start across the UK and Merseyside.

Air from the Arctic will sink south and by New Years Day the chilly air will have gripped much of the UK.

On Merseyside temperatures will struggle to climb above 5C, with clear skies it will feel very chilly and closer to 1C at times.

The Met Office say: “Staying largely dry through Friday and Saturday, but rather cloudy.

“Outbreaks of rain likely to move southwards through New Year’s Eve, clearing New Years Day to much colder brighter conditions”.
