After a chilly few days that has saw temperatures struggle to reach above freezing and the region under weather warnings for fog, temperatures will recover in time for the New Years Eve.
However, there will be a chilly start to 2017 as arctic air returns to the UK on New Years Day.

A mostly cloudy day but with temperatures back into double figures so if you’re heading out the weather should feel milder than recently. The maximum temperature will be 10C.
New Years Day
Feeling cooler than New Year’s Eve due to a 5C drop in temperatures, however there will be some bright and sunny spells.
What do the Met Office say ?
“Staying largely dry through Friday and Saturday, but rather cloudy.
“Outbreaks of rain likely to move southwards through New Year’s Eve, clearing New Years Day to much colder brighter conditions”.
