Fish & chips could be replaced by squid as UK sea temperatures rise


Fish & chips is a famous British meal and is always a popular dish when taking a trip to the seaside.

However, due to UK sea temperatures rising the famous meal may have to feature squid.

Due to the warming fish such as cod are heading towards colder waters away from the UK.

Squid and fish that thrive in warmer waters, such as sardines and anchovies, are flourishing around the North Sea, according to fisheries data.

It has been revealed that squid is now being caught at 60% of survey stations compared to just 20% in the 1980’s.
