Met Office issues parts of the UK snow warnings, but will it snow on Merseyside ?

The Met Office issued parts of the UK weather warnings for snow on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Rain is due to arrive over the UK during Tuesday and as this meets the colder air, it will turn to snow in some areas.

Most of the snow is due to fall over mountains and hills in northern England & Scotland.

However, some snow could fall down to lower levels of Yorkshire and the Midlands the Met Office warn.

The warnings are in place from 12pm Tuesday to 9am on Wednesday but do not cover Merseyside as no snow is expected here, the most Merseyside could see is sleet or hail.

Although it wont snow it will still feel cold as Tuesday on Merseyside will experience daytime temperatures of just 5C.

The Met Office say: “A band of rain spreading slowly in will turn to snow as it encounters cold air.

“Whilst this will be mainly on high ground, and heavier bursts could easily bring snow down to low levels.

“Overnight into Wednesday morning, there are concerns that heavier bursts could bring snow more widely down to low levels over parts of eastern England, though at this stage there is low confidence”.
