Taurid meteor shower will peak on Merseyside TONIGHT

Meteors are set to light up the skies above Merseyside throughout November, but the best of the display is expected to peak tonight.

Astronomers say that after Midnight should provide the best chances of seeing bright meteors lighting up the night sky from the Taurid shower.

The best chance of spotting it will be to head away from any light pollution and if skies are clear when 10 an hour could be visible.

The weather is expected to be clear at times but with some cloud around which should give some areas of Merseyside a good view.

Temperatures will be a chilly 7C so it will probably be a good idea to wrap up.
