Many of you didn’t sleep last night as the thunder rolled across the night sky and the lightning lit up bedrooms across the region.
The Met Office on Saturday had issued severe weather warnings for heavy thundery rain.
And early this morning heavy rain and thunder arrived just as our story an the Met Office had suggested.

Many of you took to social media to complain about not being able to sleep, Kirsty Bakstad even ventured out to take the video above at New Brighton.
A frontal zone became slow moving across Merseyside with areas of persistent and at times heavy rain.
Some places seen as much as 30-40 mm of rain during the storm.
