There are a few Meteor showers before the year is out, but the one that will provide the most spectacular view will be the Geminids shower in December.
The shower will peak on December 13-14, 2016 and will last until mid-evening to dawn.
The Geminid meteor shower is one of the finest meteors showers visible and should provide up to 120 meteors an hour.
The best time to head out to view the shower will be around 2am.
The meteors are that often and bright they are said to rival the August Perseids.
