You may have seen reports in the media recently that some forecasters are suggesting a 6 week heatwave in the UK due to warmer air from Southern Europe.
Currently no forecast models suggest that this has any truth, in fact the latest models suggest that summer is looking unsettled at times with some warm sunshine.
The next few weeks could see some brief spells of warmth which could hit into the high 20’s, but with some spells of rain and cloud, nothing to suggest a 6 week heatwave.

A Met Office forecaster said: “The changeable theme will likely continue next week, with most parts seeing some rain at times, but there will also be a downward trend in temperatures, particularly noticeable in the south.
“The heaviest and most frequent rain will probably still be in the northwest”.
