Hoylake Lifeboat were called out to a 24m, 200 tonne beam trawler this morning.
The vessel was 38 miles north west of the station and had suffered machinery failure.
The lifeboat arrived on scene at 11:44am and a tow was secured, the lifeboat then made course for Liverpool.

After proceeding for 10 miles, the casualty vessel arranged a tow to Whitehaven.
Hoylake Lifeboat proceeded north to rendezvous with another beam trawler, which took over the tow and proceeded with the casualty to Whitehaven.
The lifeboat returned to station at 4:45pm.
