It’s summer solstice today, but what is it ?

Basically summer solstice is the longest day of the year when there will be 17 hours of daylight.

The day after Summer Solstice, days will gradually get shorter until the Winter Solstice which is the shortest day and the longest night of the year, this will occur on December 21st.

For many people Summer Solstice marks the start of summer, although after Mondays wet start it certainly wont feel like it.
