The Met Office have issued Merseyside severe weather warnings for thundery downpours after parts of Merseyside were hit by flash flooding.
Thunderstorms broke out this afternoon which contained heavy rain.
Around 36mm of rain fell in a very short space of time which resulted in roads and streets being turned into rivers.

Merseyside fire and rescue were called out to house on Wirral after it was struck by lightning during the storm.
The Met Office have said: “Slow-moving, heavy thundery showers which developed over parts of Northern Ireland this morning have become more widespread and will continue to affect some areas for a time this afternoon before slowly easing this evening.
“As is often the case with heavy showers, some parts of the area enclosed within this warning will miss the showers and remain dry”.
