Merseyside saw scorching temperatures today, but will it last ?

The Met Office recorded temperatures of 25.8C on Merseyside and in some areas the mercury unofficially hit 28C making it the hottest day of the year so far.

The rest of the week will see temperatures gradually cool down as we head towards the weekend.

The warm sunshine will be less of a frequent feature for the rest of the week as cloud cover will increase, temperatures will hover around 18C.

The Met Office has also warned of thunderstorms on Tuesday.

The Met Office forecast says: “Remaining fine and very warm with scattered heavy showers likely on Wednesday.

“A drier day on Thursday, but gradually becoming cloudier during Friday with the chance of some rain later”.
