This video shows just how difficult it can be for aeroplane pilots to land during strong winds.
The dramatic video was filmed by youtuber Aviation UpClose on Tuesday as strong winds were causing difficult landing conditions at Liverpool’s John Lennon Airport.
They said on their youtube channel: “Very windy at LPL today, wind gusts were exceeding 20+ knots at 350 degrees. Making it a direct crosswind.
“EI-FRL made an approach to 09 but was caught by strong downdrafts very close to the ground causing the 737 to lose lift and altitude rapidly.
“The pilot then made the sensible to abort the landing and come back around this time landing overhead on Runway 27.
“This looked absolutely incredible!”.
