West Kirby Marine Lake has been given the all-clear after water quality testing and is now open.
West Kirby marine lake shut earlier this week over concerns about the water quality.
But after health services tested the lake, the council gave the all clear today and has been re-opened with immediate effect.
Tests revealed that the Lake easily passes the mandatory bathing water quality standard, in fact the water quality is that good, that it meets the higher standard – Blue Flag quality bathing water.

Wirral Council said: “We appreciate the patience and understanding shown by customers this week as we investigated concerns, raised by one of the organisations who use the lake regularly, over a potentially high level of bacteria in the water”.
“Our testing shows this is not the current situation and the water in the Marine Lake is safe”.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the temporary, precautionary closure and we look forward to seeing you again very soon”.
