Wirral Council has temporarily shut West Kirby marine lake over concerns about it’s water quality.
While health services investigate and await test results, all activities on the lake have been suspended until at least the weekend.
People have been asked not to use the lake until further notice.
The Council website said: “The Marine Lake at West Kirby will be closed until at least the weekend as the council’s environmental health team awaits the findings of water samples taken this morning.
“All scheduled activities on the lake remain suspended and members of the public are asked not to enter or use the lake until further notice. We apologise for the inconvenience this causes to customers”.
