Merseyside has been issued another severe weather warning for thick fog.
The Met Office warns that Merseyside is expected to have a 3rd day of thick fog and that more travel disruption could be expected on Tuesday morning.
Fog is likely to thicken this evening and become dense in places and much of this will persist overnight and last well into Tuesday morning.
Some minor disruption to travel is likely with poor visibility leading to difficult driving conditions, suspended ferry crossings and local flight cancellations.
A chief forecaster at the Met Office has said: “A stagnant and moist airmass remains in place across much of the UK.
“Fog has persisted through Monday across many areas, and visibility is likely to reduce on Monday evening, often below 100 metres.
He added: “The fog is likely to thin quite quickly across the south of the yellow area on Tuesday morning but may persist for longer further north”.
Monday morning saw thick fog disrupt Mersey Ferry crossings and cancelled flights from Liverpool Airport.
