The Met Office have issued Merseyside a severe weather warning for heavy rain from 8pm Monday – 10pm Tuesday
Areas of showers that have affected northern England during Bank Holiday Monday may merge together during the evening as an area of slightly stronger winds runs into the area from the north.
The Met Office say: “There has been a great deal of variation in the timings and intensity of the resulting area of rain but there is a low likelihood that as these showers combine they could bring some very heavy rainfall to the warning area”.
As much as 50 mm could fall in a few hours in some areas of the warning area and the Met Office say there is a risk of localised flooding in the areas that see the heavy rain.
