Chris Burton, forecaster for The Weather Network, commented: “Low pressure will drift across Scotland during Friday and Saturday bringing an unseasonable spell of windy weather to the northern half of the UK.

“It will also feel cool for July too with highs in the mid-teens at best and with heavy showers, it will definitely feel more like autumn than summer.

He added: “Another spell of heavy rain will sweep in from the west later on Sunday, heralding another fairly cool and changeable week of weather for the UK next week.”
