A low pressure system will bring heavy rain and strong winds for Wirral & Merseyside Friday and into the weekend.
Friday has already seen gusts reach nearly 40mph at some costal areas across Merseyside.
Saturday is expected to see more windy conditions, especially at costal areas which could see wind speeds similar to Friday’s conditions.
The worst of the rain is expected to feature on Sunday which could be heavy at times for some areas.
Chris Burton, forecaster for The Weather Network, commented: “Low pressure will drift across Scotland during Friday and Saturday bringing an unseasonable spell of windy weather to the northern half of the UK.
“It will also feel cool for July too with highs in the mid-teens at best and with heavy showers, it will definitely feel more like autumn than summer.
He added: “Another spell of heavy rain will sweep in from the west later on Sunday, heralding another fairly cool and changeable week of weather for the UK next week.”
As the school summer holidays begin next week there should be some brighter weather early on, but the rest of next week could feature more wet and potentially thundery weather. – More on this soon.
