It’s been a wet & windy few days on Merseyside, although the wind has turned out to be not as bad as expected, with a top overnight gust of 38mph, compared to the predicted 50mph.
The rain was the biggest feature, as 7.8mm has fallen since yesterday, making it a very wet 24 hours.
Although the miserable weather, wind and rain will ease tonight and high pressure is going to bring warmer air to the UK, by Thursday and Friday, Merseyside could see temperatures of 20C.
Temperatures will cool down slightly by the weekend as a cold front moves in, however, with light winds and high pressure bringing milder temperatures than what we’ve seen recently, it will feel much more comfortable.
A meteorologist at the Met Office, said: “It will be a week of two halves. The first half will be very unsettled. There are likely to be spells of rain and it will be pretty windy and quite cool for start of June.
“But Wednesday is the transition day. Pressure will build across the country and the weather will turn drier and sunnier.
“Temperature wise, it will be significantly warmer than in recent weeks, it will be a marked change from cool to warmer weather across the UK.”
The high pressure sitting over the UK bringing the more warmer settled conditions, looks to remain in place throughout next week.
Thats means next week will feel much more bearable due to warmer temps and lighter winds, there will also be drier and brighter conditions.
Next week will feel much more like summer..
