High pressure and warm winds from the mediterranean will arrive at the UK next week, bringing drier and warmer spells of sunshine next week.
Merseyside could see temperatures of up to 18C+ from Wednesday next week with forecasters also suggesting that the warm weather is set to continue further into June.
By the second week of June temperatures could climb to over 20C on Merseyside according to forecasters, as high pressure is set to dominate the regions weather.
Met Office forecaster Helen Roberts said: “Towards the latter part of next week we are expecting a Continental feed which will bring warm air into the country.
She added: “It does look like things will warm up and we have high confidence of above average temperatures”.
Although the warm temperatures, the dry spell may not last all week, as there’s a chance of wetter thundery weather next weekend.
Jim Dale, a senior meteorologist at British Weather Solutions told Wirral Weather: “the warm dry spell kicks in for Wirral later next week on Thursday/Friday, but don’t hold your breath.
“It’s currently likely to be short-lived with thundery breakdown into the weekend”.
