(Video: Beautiful warm start to today)
Wirral & Merseyside could see temperatures creep up to 18C putting Madrid’s predicted 10C in the shade.
This is due to high pressure being a dominant feature of the weather this week.
As a result, this is ending up to some cloudy but dry and settled conditions across the region, with bright and sunny spells during the week.
Although the chilly, foggy start, by Friday we could have seen the warmest temperatures of the year, with potential maximum temperatures of at least 16C – 18C.
Winds will remain light so this will allow the warmer temperatures to creep up, especially for those that do see a bit of sunshine.
A forecaster at the Met Office has said: “It will be generally sunny and warm into Wednesday and Thursday with bright spells.
They added: “Light winds will make the sunshine feel pleasantly warm right up to the weekend”.
The warm dry weather isn’t set to last long, as a cold front is heading our way in time for the weekend.
This will bring colder temperatures and wetter and windier weather to the region.
